GLOFORD Uganda and Centre of Health, Human Rights and Development (CEHURD) siged a partnership to implement Joint Advocacy for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Uganda (JAS Programme). The project is financed with funding from Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and implemented in 14 districts of Uganda.

Overall Project objective: A progressive social movement boldly challenging the deep structures affecting the realization of SRHR in Uganda (Lira District) by 2023.

Specific project objectives

  1. To enhance a sustainable SRHR movement that will collaborate and collectively advocate for SRHR in Lira District and Lira City by December 2023.
  2. To enhance capacity of rights holders, duty bearers and communities at grassroots level to effectively advocate for and protect SRHR in Lira that feeds into the Community Empowerment Program by December 2023.
  3. Strengthened systems, structures, collaboration and coordination within and amongst the SRHR Movement in Uganda (Lira)
  4. Generate evidence on SRHR Advocacy and Programming in Lira that feeds into the SRHR Knowledge Management Programme.
  5. A strengthened institution with financial independence and operational efficiency delivering on its mandate.

The project implementation takes a community empowerment and district led approach where the communities and youth provide the leadership in driving the SRHR agenda by creating spaces where communities and young people have a voice.
